Jessica is a biostatistician and faculty at OHSU-PSU School of Public Health and Knight Cancer Institute in Portland. She helped organize the first and second Cascadia R Conf starting in 2017 and is grateful the Pacific Northwest R community is still thriving. She has been teaching R for quite some time for her day job and also at other R and biostatistics conferences, and is passionate about helping people new to coding to feel empowered to work with data using R.

Chester is currently the Senior Director of Data Science and Cybersecurity Education at Flatiron School. Chester also enjoys leading teams, helping others get into data science, figuring out how to best practice and improve on their skills, and working as a part-time consultant on R and Python programming projects. He is co-author of multiple R packages as well as a textbook entitled "Statistical Inference via Data Science: A ModernDive into R and the Tidyverse" available at moderndive.com and for purchase from CRC Press. He has previously worked as a professor in academia, as a campus-wide R and statistics consultant, as a curriculum lead in online education, and as a data science and machine learning corporate trainer.
